Technical museum in Antonsthal, which conveys interesting facts and vivid information about the history of mining over two floors.
Opening hours:
Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 – 13:00
The technical museum “Silberwäsche” Antonsthal gives you an insight into the techniques of ore processing and the more than 300-year mining history of the village. Since 1828, the ore-bearing rock has been crushed by the 15 punches. Even today, these are still lifted by the 4m diameter waterwheel and the 8m long thumb shaft.
The water wheel is fed by the water-bearing artificial ditch.
Further processing of the crushed and washed ores took place in the local “Königlich-Sächsische-Anton-Silber-Schmelzhütte” from 1831.
Our adjoining adventure playground and the outdoor pool also invite our young and old guests to linger.
