During the renovation of the “Manufaktur der Träume,” the special exhibition is generally accessible only as part of pre-booked group tours through the Annaberg-Buchholz Tourist Information Office. However, on select days, it is also open to individual visitors. Admission is 5.00 euros per person, or 3.50 euros for reduced-rate admission.
The exhibition brings together a wide variety of extraordinary items from the Pohl-Ströher collection, along with selected exhibits from the “Manufaktur der Träume” and items on loan from the private collection of Erika Pohl-Ströher. On display are, among other things, impressive Christmas and regional mountain dioramas, ornate patience bottles, historic pyramids and ceiling spiders, mechanical masterpieces, and lovingly crafted toys from days gone by.
The works on display—just like the permanent exhibition at the “Manufaktur der Träume”—stem from Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher’s decades-long collecting efforts. Since 2010, the Pohl-Ströher Depot in Gelenau has delighted visitors with major collection exhibitions across approximately 1,600 square meters of exhibition space and is considered one of the most significant private collections of Erzgebirge folk art.
This special opening offers visitors a unique opportunity to discover these “treasures” in a one-of-a-kind setting—as a cultural highlight during the renovation of the “Manufaktur der Träume.”
