Crowned by the famous St. Anne’s Church, the Annaberg Christmas market in the heart of the old town is an inviting place to visit. The trademark of the Ore Mountains is visited by countless visitors every year.

The large market pyramid, the giant Christmas tree, the gnome services for children, miners’ and traditional events, craft presentations and regional delicacies reminiscent of food from grandma’s stove all add to its special flair.

The market pyramid tells the story of the town, mining and Christmas. Genuine Erzgebirge wooden art can be seen in traditional and modern designs. Incense candles, Christmas scents, Annaberg folding stars, over 80 lovingly decorated stalls and atmospheric Advent and Christmas music create the unique atmosphere that visitors from near and far love and appreciate so much.

The Christmas market is complemented by the so-called “Christmas Worlds”, the Manufactory of Dreams, the miners’ nativity scene in the St. Marien mountain church, the Erzhammer Christmas house and Advent concerts and Mettenspiele in the St. Annen church.
